'Japanese Rituals’ Afternoon Tea, The Halkin Hotel London


William Curley’s ‘Japanese Rituals’ Afternoon Tea
Available as a limited edition tea from 8th October

This autumn, a taste of Japan will take centre stage at The Halkin by COMO, London with the launch of its ‘Japanese Rituals’ Afternoon Tea, created exclusively by William Curley, four-time winner of ‘Britain’s Best Chocolatier’.

Scottish born William and his Japanese wife Suzue have injected the traditional British afternoon tea experience with subtle Japanese flavours. Green tea, creamy wasabi, floral jasmine and tangy Yuzu have all been woven into the new Japanese inspired patisserie which have been paired with the finest aromatic fresh leaf teas. Available as a limited edition tea from 8th October, the menu will feature treats such as:

Apricot Wasabi Entremet – layers of pistachio sponge, chocolate cremeaux, wasabi ganache and apricot compote

Dark Chocolate Pyramid Mousse – Jasmine crème brulee, caramelised mandarin and chocolate sponge
Chestnut and Yuzu Almond Sweet Pastry Tart – Almond and chestnut sponge, Yuzu marmalade, chestnut mousse topped with Italian meringue

Raspberry and green tea white chocolate casket – Raspberry mousse, green tea crème brulee and green tea sponge

The new patisserie will be served alongside a selection of freshly prepared sandwiches and scones. Japanese teas and infusions come courtesy of tea experts Jing www.jingtea.com


The ‘Japanese Flavours’ Tea is priced at £37.50 per person
A Champagne afternoon tea is also available for £47.50
