Thames Diamond Jubilee Pageant 3rd June

This is one of the largest flotillas ever assembled on the River Thames! There will be up to 1,000 boats taking part in the pageant including those used by our armed forces and emergency services, alongside historic boats, narrow boats and man powered craft.

Her Majesty The Queen will be aboard The Spirit of Chartwell, a traditional Royal Barge decorated in the style of a grand Pullman railway carriage. The Royal vessels will join the flotilla at 3pm, directly behind the man-powered section, and the Royal Barge will halt beside HMS President at 4.15pm to watch the rest of the pageant sail past.

Each craft will be decorate with streamers and Union Jack flags, and the passenger boards will carry up to 20,000 member of the public. The flotilla will be preceded by a floating belfry, which will be chiming for the length of the route. Ten musical barges will also accompany the different sections of the flotilla, carrying a range of performs such as the Herald Fanfare Trumpetersand the London Philharmonic Orchestra.

On the Eastern side of Tower Bridge, those ships that are too large to pass underneath will assemble to instead form the Avenue of Sail. There will be more than 60 historic boats lining both banks, that will be in place for public viewing from 30th May.

Where to watch the Thames Diamond Jubilee Pageant?

Watch, and enjoy the Thames Diamond Jubilee for free along the River Thames. There will be 50 big screens along the route, ensuring that regardless of where you are standing you will see the flotilla in it's full glory!

The pageant starts at Battersea Bridge at 2.25pm and finishes at Tower Bridge between 5pm and 6pm. It will take roughly 75 minutes for the flotilla to pass at any given point.

Battersea, Chelsea, Vauxhall, Waterloo and London bridges will all be open to the public, with big screens dotted along the riverside!
